• dj Ferry Corsten biography

Born in the Rotterdam Harbour in Holland (if there have ever been another one…), he has been full-time producer since 1991 and has planted his base in the city of Rotterdam itself. Starting with hard-core tracks, in 1996 moved his attention to clubhouse and trance music, getting a wider audience and more chances to get heard by anyone releasing the single “Don’t Be Afraid”, a debut as producer, composer and song writer. In 1997 Ferry and his partner Robert Smit established the Tsunami dance label together with the Dutch based dance company Purple Eye Entertainment. That would be one of the most productive collaborations producing and creating a lot of good stuff and catching interests by all over the world. From 1997 to 1999 Ferry produced other projects like ” I’m In Love” by Starparty (produced together with Robert Smit), “Carte Blanche” by Veracocha (produced together with Vincent de Moor) and in the 1999, collaborating with Dj Tiesto, a project called “Gouryella”. The first singles “Gouryella” and “Walhalla” had a real good luck in the UK getting good positions in charts and the third, released in sept. 2000 “Tenshi” was even a world-wide release. And he’s also a very good Dj, touring Europe and America’s dancefloors giving life to really unforgettable soirées mixing music and get the people banging…Ferry started the Trance Nation serie whic is one of the most selled dance compilations of all times mixed by Ferry Corsten aka System F. In th second half of 2000 the third part of Trance Nation was released and a fourth one has been already planned. In 1999 he was awarded with the “Best Producer Prize” by Ericsson Muzik in London, leaving behind huge names such as Puff Daddy and Rodney Jerkins. In May 2000 he got the “Best Remix Award” for “Barber’s Adagio For Strins” at Dancestars Awards and in Holland gained the Silver Harp for having given a big contribute to Dutch Dance Music. A real platinum kid, providing one of the most exciting music, understaing what’s in audience wishes and giving them with a little of himself in everything. That’s a rare talent and a hard conquer being producer for a lifetime.
